Safety and scams
CallBoards is built so strangers cannot grab a phone number off the board. We do not sell or share personal data. Use this page if something feels off.
How contact stays locked
- Contractors browse every live ticket. Phone, email, and the jobsite stay blurred until the homeowner reviews the contractor page and accepts.
- Homeowners must upload a photo, video, or PDF of the scope (up to 25 MB) before a ticket goes on the board. That is how crews tell a real job from a fake post.
- Claiming requires a complete public profile: photo, bio, registered LLC, logo, and work photos. Videos up to 25 MB are optional and help homeowners judge the work.
- CallBoards staff will never text, email, or DM you asking for a wire, gift card, crypto, or a “hold” fee. Membership is $29.99 in the app, after three free leads.
- If someone signs in to your homeowner or contractor login from a new city, or from a phone or computer we have not seen on your account, we email and text the address and number on file. Open Security and tap This was me or This was not me. If it was not you, set a new password next. We will never ask you to read back a code from that text.
Walk away if someone asks you to
- Pay a deposit off the platform to “reserve” a job or a crew.
- Buy gift cards, use Western Union, Zelle, or crypto to a personal account.
- Share your password, one-time code, or a photo of your ID in a chat.
- Move the conversation to a random number before you have accepted in CallBoards.
Questions or concerns
Open Support and describe what happened. Stay on CallBoards. Never wire money, buy a gift card, or pay to hold a job. Contact stays locked until you accept a crew.
